Matt was really smart. He didn’t get this far in life by falling for every scheme that came by or paying too much for things. 😎
Matt had it all. A good job, nice house, a great wife. 3 awesome kids. 🤗
Like many of us though, he had an inner yearning for more than what his job’s paycheck was able to deliver.
After looking at getting a 2nd job ❌and then network marketing ❌ He looked at those real estate investing seminars 😰
He went to a couple of those that came through town but didn’t appreciate the high pressure sales pitch and the 💵💵💵 they were asking for just a single strategy.
Like I said Matt was real smart. Like so many other times before, he called on his Irish sensibilities and thought he would just go to Youtube and also read a few blog articles.
He could figure it out by himself. Just don’t ask Jennifer, his wife about when they had to change out ceiling fans.
Don’t ask Roger, his middle child about when the AC when out.
And don’t ask his boss what is keeping him from the promotion.🤫
Other than that, Matt was well, ok at fixing some things. And by that I mean Jennifer ended up calling someone else to fix what Matt “fixed”. Jennifer is a saint. 😇
At most though he would buy a couple of books at the store and ask his realtor friend questions if needed.
Like so many other things, Matt went about this half ass, trying to get by without getting everything he needed to be successful.

Until he saw something very different one day as he was driving his family to dinner. It was a sign for a lost cat. His neighbor had a cat…🐱 The daughter loved it so much. Frank, the dad, not so much.
Who would put up a flyer like that? Do they really want to get the cat found? There’s no name, no photo… Just a half ass drawing.
Jennifer said “Frank was posting that with his daughter earlier today”.
Matt asked “Why would he do something like that knowing it’s not as effective”?
Jennifer replied smugly “Hmm. It’s almost as if he is sabotaging his efforts because he doesn’t really want the cat to be found”
“Frank is just going through the motions to look like he’s trying”.
It hit Matt like a 2X4 to the nose.
She wasn’t talking about Frank. Jennifer was now talking about him and his “efforts” to learn real estate investing by himself without getting the proper training.
It was so much more than that though. This opened up a whole history of his decisions, where he didn’t fully commit to success and subconsciously just half assed it.
Was he just half assing his way through life?

That filled him with the confidence to follow through, take action and start living life on his terms. 💯🤩
